Blessing of Agreement for All
Father, we thank you that you are the only God that is Love and that You desire Your love to fill every person you created and You created all of us. It is not Your will that any should perish.
We thank you that You so love each and every one that You gave Your only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe in Him, would not perish but have everlasting life. Thank you that You did not send your Son into the world to condemn it, but that the world through Him would be saved and transformed by Your love.
We bless the eyes of our understanding to be enlightened to know in a deep and personal way, the breadth and length and depth and height of the love of Christ which passes knowledge, that each one of us will be filled with all the fullness of You, Heavenly Father, that we might be Your hands extended to our lost and dying world.
We bless each one to personally experience the love of Christ that took on all of our sickness, disease, hurt, rejection, abandonment, betrayal, failures, mistakes, and all of the ways we missed the mark of love, to death on the cross on Calvary.
We bless each one to a revelation of the path of love and eternal life that You set before each one of us and the grace to receive the free gift of love and eternal life that Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price so that we might receive it.
We welcome Your Kingdom of life and love to come and Your will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. We bless our families and communities to be transformed by Your love and let it begin with me.
In Jesus' Name, Amen!
A Call to Bless
We are privileged to serve the creator of the Universe who IS all wisdom and He desires for us to “get understanding”. Jeremiah 29:11 which tells about the Lord's plan for good and not evil to give us a future and a hope was written during a time of Babylonian captivity.
Proverbs 4:5-7 is clear: 5Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them. 6Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. 7 Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, a get understanding. And Proverbs 8:12-16 12“I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion. 13To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. 14Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have understanding and power. 15By me kings reign and rulers make laws that are just; 16by me princes govern, and all nobles who rule on earth. And to bring this home further: Romans 13:11 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God
The prayer movement IS a part of HIS solution but to go to the next level, we must learn to do HIS will HIS way and in order to do that, we must get wisdom and get understanding and there is only one way and that is to go to the all wise, all knowing Father, Son and Holy Spirit who created the universe and allow HIM to give us HIS mind.
Jesus' words in Luke 19:13 where Jesus told the parable of the stewards who were instructed to “occupy until I come”. A study of the chapter in context will reveal that the Lord was responding to judgments He was receiving (vs 7) because He reached out to a “tax collector” (a man in governmental employ) and went to his house and brought him salvation (vs 9) The governmental arena is in the condition it is in, because as a church, we failed to “occupy it” in many ways. -ie- a) Not being obedient to the Lord's urging in 1 Tim 2 to “first of all” pray for all men and those in authority; and b) judging those in authority and thus bringing a curse upon ourselves (Rom 13) The Lord sets a clear standard in the book of Daniel regarding what it takes to see the hearts of kings and nations turn, Chapter 6:10 “Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward(A) Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees(B) and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.(C).” We also see that Daniel frequently was known and received by the governmental leadership of His day. Daniel saw the fruit of his prayers that God's kingdom would come and His will would be done on earth as it is in heaven and we should expect no less as we hear and obey the instructions of the Lord.
That is the prayer Jesus taught his disciples to pray when they asked Him for instruction. (Luke 11:1) They asked this because they didn't see the fruit of their prayers the way they saw the fruit of Jesus'. In addition He told them in Matt. 6, where we find Jesus teaching them the same prayer and in vs:33 He tells them to “seek you first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.”
I believe the Lord's exhortation to Martha is appropriate here: “Martha, Martha, you are careful and troubled with so many things but Mary has chosen the better part. Luke10:41 When we are seeking first the Kingdom of God, we find ourselves sitting at His feet, and following His example,
"I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” John 5:19 The Kingdom of God is not meat or drink but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Is this what we are representing to our society? The statistics of the condition of the church reveal the lack of righteousness and the frenzy of activity, reveals the absence of peace which robs us of His joy which is our strength.
There is another prayer that Jesus taught us that also must be looked at and that is His prayer in John 17: 21 - that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. vs 22: And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one. Jesus prayed that we would be one so the world would believe that the Father sent Him. Our nation is not believing because we are not walking in true unity. We talk it and I believe we have been genuinely working towards its fulfillment, however too many times even prayer events become about building our own ministries instead of His. If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me. (John 12:32) But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. 21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” As we mobilize our prayer events do we welcome the “other joints to actually supply” or are they invited to come and watch as we do “our ministry”? Ephesians 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. The point being that without the joints outside of our ministry streams contributing, the flow of our God who is love is not revealed to the outside world so Jesus' prayer cannot be fulfilled because we are not doing it His way. In the physical example in 1Cor 12, a part of the body that doesn't have the circulatory flow going to it, begins to die and life cannot be sustained there until the flow is restored. While we honor the different functions (ministries) of the body, when we are dealing with corporate issues as we are when we are dealing with in the governmental arena, we must have at least a remnant of all of the parts fitly supplying.
We can trust in His ways: Isaiah 9:6-7: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. Have you experienced recently His zealous love for you and His destiny call on your life? If not, He surely wants you to! Be still and KNOW He IS God!
James 3:17-18 17But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
As we have increasingly seen, the society at large in our nation considers Christians and their faith irrelevant because for the most part, they see us as serving ourselves. There is a saying; people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. What the lost see, is us criticizing our governmental leaders, isolating ourselves and serving our own ministries, and not dealing with our own sin in the camp, -ie- .
Not only is the Lord wanting us to make the course correction to eliminate what we are doing that is in direct opposition to His word but also on what we are not doing that we should be to align with His kingdom, Romans 14: 17For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, 18because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men. There are 805 references in the online bible to the “good news of the Kingdom”. He wants us to proactively obey the mandates of His word in relation to shining the light of His Spirit and releasing the good news of the Kingdom to those outside the church.
To take steps towards this we are proposing the 1Tim 2 Blessing Initiative.
We are proposing that we corporately and individually commit to releasing blessing, life and truth and actively cease from cursing our nation and its leaders.
Below is an example of what we are referring to.
An article by Canadian director Faytene Grasseschi
"I will never forget the day. Thousands of us were standing in front of the Parliament of Canada with hands out stretched decreeing toward the office buildings, “We bless you, we bless you, we bless you! We bless you with a spirit of wisdom to run our nation. We bless you with a spirit of justice. We bless your families & health. We bless you with a revelation of the Messiah. We bless you….”
The next week I got an e-mail from one of the offices. The woman writing said, “I want to thank you for your gathering and let you know how much it impacted us. In all the years I have worked here, we have never had a group come for any reason other than to criticize us, rebuke us and tell us what we are doing wrong. Your kindness had our entire office in tears. You are the first group that has ever come in a spirit of blessing.” I was stunned. We were the first group to do this? She went onto say, “Whatever you need, just let us know. ”There is nothing more powerful than love (it kept Jesus on the Cross).
There is little more disarming than honor. This same group that blessed our leaders that day has now had more sit down meetings with government than any organization – very likely in the history of the nation. Through this open door they have also been a key part of advancing major socially conservative legislation on things like fighting human trafficking, life issues, youth suicide and national reconciliation. There has been a shift.
In 2001 our Prime Minister would not even mention the name of God at the 911 memorial - he actually forbade it. Today, in 2012, Canada has a Prime Minister who is known for saying, "God bless you and God bless Canada." This same Prime Minister has stood on the international stage in support of Israel, declared war on human trafficking and lead an unprecedented move of repentance for historical atrocities.
Long story short: we have literally seen the tide of a nation turn. We believe this can be directly attributed to the coordinated national prayer of many like-minded ministries, reconciliation & blessing movement."
God has put life and death in the power of our tongue. He has set His very spirit that raised Christ from the dead in us. He has called us to pray for those in authority. That is a powerful combo. Can you imagine what could happen if we could get believers, from all over the world, with their hearts fixed in prayer, fasting and a spirit of faith towards our nation? speaking life and blessing!
As we fulfill Jesus' prayer in John 17:21-22 and use this God given authority and loose blessing in the earth we believe we will see His Kingdom come and His will start to be done in our nation as it is in heaven.
We are proposing creating an “change of mind and direction” in our leadership approach to turning the heart of the church back to God's heart to seek and save the lost by promoting a burden to release prayers of blessing on a regular basis at local, state and national governmental centers. We are also proposing that every time we find ourselves around a governmental center, whether it be city or state as well as education – ie- schools, public safety -ie- police and fire stations, military bases etc. We deliberately release blessing. We are proposing that our prayer calls and our corporate gatherings deliberately release blessing and that we purposely have corporate gatherings at these governmental centers on a monthly basis so it will be seen that we are releasing blessing, not cursing.
The word is clear: Prov 18:21: Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Deut 30:19: I call heaven and earth as witness this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.
Blessing of Agreement for Marriage
Father, we thank you that one of the greatest blessings you have given us is the blessing of repentance.
We repent for not honoring, valuing and blessing the gifts of marriage and life that you have given us. We repent for leaving our first love of You and allowing the love of others and other things to distract us. The result is that the divorce rate in Christian marriages has become a mockery that has brought us to a place where the very definition of marriage as You’ve ordained it is now being challenged. Father forgive us for we know not what we’ve done.
We bless the marriages in the body of Christ to truly reflect the relationship between Christ and the church the way You desire.
We bless marriage relationships to the wisdom that comes from above which is pure; then peace- loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
We bless both spouses to the love that bears all things, believes, all things, hopes all things and endures all things. The love that does not rejoice in unrighteousness but rejoices when right and truth prevail. The love that You are, that never fails.
We bless husbands and wives to further their growth in intimacy with each other through having regular times of prayer together.
We bless husbands to lead their families with integrity and truth and to be men of conviction who set the standard of Christ in their homes and love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her.
We bless wives to be true helpmates that respect not only their husbands but honor their role as women, wives and mothers and daughters of their King of Kings as well.
We bless the marriages in the body of Christ to seek first the Kingdom of Christ and His righteousness and order their lives accordingly.
We bless men and women to honor the gift of life that is produced from their intimacy with each other.
We bless the children as the heavenly heritage, gifts from above, that are to be loved by training them in the way they are to go so when they are old they will not depart from it.
We bless the role of parents in actively patterning their personal, intimate relationship with Christ before their children, including having a family altar time that includes praying with them and allowing them to pray as well.
We bless the spouses and their children to the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, Patience, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness and self-control and the living testimony of Christ upon the earth.
